Mr. Ali Adamjee is the Chief Executive Officer of Adamjee Dura Built (Pvt) Limited, a leading producer of PVC pipes and fittings in Pakistan. Adamjee Dura Built is a part of the House of Adamjee which was founded by Sir Adamjee Haji Dawood who, along with being a compatriot of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was one of the main financiers in the creation of Pakistan. Originally in matches and jute, the House of Adamjee has diversified into many fields including insurance, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and textiles. Mr. Ali Adamjee joined Adamjee Dura Built-in 1993 and was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer in 1997. During his time there, the business has grown by 300x with an unwavering focus on R&D, quality assurance, and manufacturing competitiveness. It is because of this rigor that the company has become a leading supplier of industrial products to over 150 cities in Pakistan with a constantly expanding network. With over 2 decades of consistent executive leadership in line with the values of the Group, Mr. Ali Adamjee has cemented the company as a core pillar of value creation for the House of Adamjee. Sir Adamjee Haji Dawood was knighted by King Edward, not only for his business prowess but for his philanthropic work. Upholding this family tradition, Mr. Ali Adamjee has also been passionate about philanthropy. He is a Trustee of the Adamjee Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Group which funds various institutes of education and healthcare, and he is also a Trustee of the Hamid Adamjee Trust, which provides financial support to people with medical, educational, and/or self-employment needs. He has been heading the scholarship wing of the Adamjee Foundation since 1995 and has been awarded over 2000 scholarships to date. He was also the Chair of the Board of the Lady Mariam Adamjee Girls School for over 25 years, taking a keen interest in the running of the school which was formed to provide quality education to underprivileged girls. His governance experience further extends to Diesel Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd, another Group company, and he has also been a Director on the Board of Dawood Family Tawakul. Mr. Ali Adamjee has a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, USA, and has been a member of the Pakistan Engineering Council for over 2 decades. He is also an avid bridge player and has been on the Board of the Pakistan Bridge Federation for 8 years.
